Tay started her beauty career in 2015 in Melbourne studying a diploma of makeup artistry and specialised in face shapes and accentuating facial features. Tay wanted to broaden her skill set in the beauty industry while she was practicing makeup so she decided to do a two day qualification in eyelash extensions and started her lash business in Melbourne. With very little experience or knowledge on how to build a clientele or set up a business she was determined to make her way into the lash scene.
In 2018 Tay moved to the Gold Coast when her family received unfortunate news of her mothers terminal illness. Tay continued to build upon her lash business while working at a café and caring for her mum. Building clientele to expand on her lash business was one of her biggest hurdles of which she had to resolve on her own. Along with facing challenges of learning the skills of lashing, different techniques, different styles, retention, pricing, environmental control and so many more challenges that come with building a business with no assistance.
Tay took the leap to quit her job at the café and focus her energy on expanding her business and getting her name out there whilst still looking after her mum. She was struggling to make ends meet and was working 60 hours a week in her business. Through perseverance and strength, Tay now has over 7 years experience in the lash industry and is the proud owner of Baby Lash Co.
Through the challenges Tay has overcome, she is well equipped with the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to create and own a thriving business in the lash industry. Tay has a passion for helping others and guiding them to their own success as her core values lie within the morals of what it takes to become a successful business owner, and lift other women up to become the best versions of themselves, both in their business and outside of their business.
Tay is on a mission to make a difference in the lash industry and change the game by offering her time, energy and knowledge to those who wish to go down the same path. Her courses are structured so that none of her students are made to face the struggles that she did. Through her guidance and lessons, Tay ensures that each of her students completes their chosen course feeling confident and equipped with the knowledge and skill base to create their own lash empire and to continue on with her mission of changing the game one women at a time.
